Summer 2020

Plans to host our family in Germany this year have been sadly canceled. This has been the most difficult aspect of living in the time of a pandemic.

Island of Rügen in the Baltic Sea

With parents who are aging and whose health continues to slowly worsen, we can’t help but feel a sense of helplessness being separated by an ocean.

Timmendorfer Strand, Baltic Sea (near Lübeck)

However, we feel lucky that we live in a country that seems to be handling the Coronavirus mostly well.

Gardens of Schloss Ludwigslust

Which allow us the freedom to travel within Germany.

Warnemünde Strand on the Baltic Sea (near Rostock)

Throughout my next few posts I will be sharing our summer travels throughout northern Germany including Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Wismar

Not only will these posts be a nice way to share our summer experiences, I know our family will use this blog to fondly remember our time living here in Europe.

Boating with friends on Schwielowsee

We feel so fortunate to be able to have the freedom to enjoy our travels to newly discovered parts of our host country.

Enjoying the Harbor in Rostock

And hope you can enjoy our experiences as well.
