Canary Islands

Last fall, when we started looking for a winter break destination, we discovered that the Canary Islands (Spanish Islands off the Western coast of Northern Africa) were “only” a five hours flight from Berlin. And would provide a respite from the dark, cold Berlin winter. What sealed the deal was that their government was in touch with Dave as they were interested in his work and wanted him to visit.

Hence, our first time visiting the islands (and the first time for the boys and I to travel to Spain). Here’s a photo-driven recaps of our stay.

{Leaving the cold winter in Berlin. Tech boys on the flight there.}

{First night in windy El Médano, where we stayed}

{Kite flying on the windy beach. The kites were quickly destroyed.}

{Los Cristianos beach and Burger King}

{Los Gigantes dolphin cruise on a pirate ship}

{Loro Parque while Dave was working}

{El Médano beach day}{My morning hike on the Red Mountain and the boys’ lazy day}

{El Tiede volcanic mountain – highest point in Spain}

{Isaac’s First lost tooth}

{Date Night at the Auditorio de Tenerife Adan Martin}

{Dinner afterwards. Pork knee for Dave. Tortilla Espanola for me.}

{Playground Time. Meditating on the swing}{Paella}

{Last day spent at the beach}

{Bürger Kings heading home}
