As with every year since we’ve been an item, I’ve spent Thanksgiving with my in-laws. This year was no exception.
John and Martha, Dave’s folks, as well as his brother, Sam, and future sister-in-law, Barbara, arrived the day before in order to spend the holiday together.
With trips to the school for a party, museums, farmers markets and coffee shops, as well as down time in our apartment sipping Glühwein and putting together Lego sets, we had a lovely time.

We even had some adult outings including lunch on the roof of the Reichstag and a concert at the Philharmonie.

For Thanksgiving dinner, I discovered a Berlin food truck featuring southern food run by a woman from Tennessee.
She was offering a southern Thanksgiving complete with turkey and all of the trimmings, including biscuits and pumpkin pie. (She even made a sweet potato lentil shepherds pie for us vegetarians.)
She partnered with a brew pub not far from our house, where we enjoyed half priced pints and the NFL game on the TV along with our dinner.

We all agreed the food was delicious and hassle free. Most importantly, we had family in town to celebrate Thanksgiving with.
