It’s a misty, rainy and cool day in Berlin. Fall break. Lazy day. We bundled up and took a walk outside to get some fresh air. Followed by a bubble bath and homemade coconut-milk cocoa. Mmmmmm.

Flu Shots
Last week, I found myself traveling on the U2 with a syringe filled with a flu shot. While at our doctor’s office the day before, Dave picked up a flu shot form for me, as I had an appointment with them the next day to check my Vitamin D level and to get the fluContinueContinue reading “Flu Shots”
Our neighborhood
While video chatting with my dad this week, I showed him the area I was in. I was at KaDeWe, the second largest department store in Europe, with Isaac enjoying an afternoon gelato and espresso. This is in the former capitalist West. Bombed and rebuilt. And not very historic. Or pretty. He remarked on thatContinueContinue reading “Our neighborhood”
Herbst – Part II
On our way go school this morning, Isaac and I were amazed by the beautiful fall colors. He kept asking me to take more pictures of him and the leaves. How could I resist? Here are some of my favorite shots.
Herbst – Fall
Not since Dave and I lived in Boston a decade ago have I enjoyed the fall trees as I have here in Berlin. It’s been unseasonable warm with little rain, so the leaves have not fallen much either. My fond feelings of this natural wonder can best be shown with photos. {Boys playing this morningContinueContinue reading “Herbst – Fall”
Voting
With heated mid term elections this November back home, Dave and I are exercising our right and are making sure that our votes are counted. We are voting via absentee ballots this year. This week we sat down together to hash out and research the amendments and referendums that are on the ballot in theContinueContinue reading “Voting”

German Reunification Day – October 3
While the Berlin Wall fell on November 9, 1989, it wasn’t until October 3 the following year that the GDR became a part of the Federal Republic of Germany, thus reunifying East and West. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_reunification Twenty eight years later, we celebrate together as school and most stores and offices are closed. Dave, being in GreeceContinueContinue reading “German Reunification Day – October 3”
Weekend Trip
After being in Potsdam for the women’s retreat weekend, I felt it may be a good idea for the entire family to break up the Berlin routine by going on a weekend adventure out of town of our own. Dave surprised us all and planned an overnight trip somewhere. He picked up the rental carContinueContinue reading “Weekend Trip”
