There’s nothing the boys like more after a lot of hustle and bustle than a lazy day.
And that’s exactly what we got today.

At some point, Isaac came into our room last night complaining that his legs hurt. We know these “growing pains” well. They are not uncommon after a busy day of scooting and running around, both of which he did plenty of yesterday. Unfortunately, the children’s Advil we thought we packed had not been found and the best I could do was to hold him and rub his legs. But for the rest of the night, his head, which felt like a bowling ball, was wedged in between my shoulder blades. Doesn’t make for the most restful night.
After finally getting up after 9:00, Isaac slept until 11:30. Poor buddy, sure did need it. He was greeted with a peanut butter sandwich for brunch.

Dave was the trooper and went to the copy store to print some documents, including the confirmation for the Expath German class (More justification for extra Gutshein hours. Plus, I’m pretty dedicated to learning German as quickly as possible.) I’ll start August 30, while I stayed with the boys.
They were in heaven as they watched their favorite YouTube channel while I napped until mid afternoon.
When Dave came back, we finally got a confirmation email from DeutscheBank letting us know our account had been set up and informing us of our account number and IBAN. We then wired funds from our Bank of America account to the DB account hoping that would allow us to finally get a local cell phone number. Unfortunately, the funds would not be there to do that today.
With an orientation class for new Berliners at DeutscheBank scheduled, we finally headed out.

We went to the bank, had the orientation while the boys went back to the customer child care armed with their iPads, and received both a warm welcome as well as a Berlin cookbook featuring many of the popular local restaurants. We’ve had great experiences there.
We decided to head back towards home. Since today was Ben’s half birthday (7 and a half!), he joined me at Rewe to pick up some groceries so that he could pick out some Geburtstag (Birthday) candy. I picked up some Radlers (grapefruit juice and beer) for Dave and I along with ingredients for dinner.
After clean up, Dave took the boys to the park, while I took a bath as my back was bothering me.

They came home washed their sandy feet in the tub and we all went to bed.
