36 Hours

That’s when we’ll be heading out to the airport.

It’s so hard to believe.

We’ve had so many goodbyes these past few weeks.

Without planning an official goodbye party, good friends have come to let us know that we matter to them. We count.

Not being on social media, I’ve made no official announcement. No trite “good lucks” or thumbs up have been posted.

Instead, those in the know, those who are truly a part of our lives, have shown up. In real life. And now isn’t that the best gift that one could receive? Human connection on the most basic level.

So thank you, dear ones. For coming from near, from far.

Thank you to those who may have only been able to text or call, for whatever reason. I understand.

And thank you to those in our little corner of this world, for gathering tonight to remind us that we will always have a home back here in Rosewalk.
